GCSE exams in England are expected to revert to pre-pandemic arrangements in 2023, with students no longer provided with advance information on the focus of their summer exams.
They will, however, be given continued support in GCSE maths, physics and combined science through the provision of formulae and equation sheets.
Pandemic disruption or otherwise, it’s essential to do as much prep work and revision as you can for your exams, knowing the material inside out so you can go into the exam full of confidence, knowing that you’re able to do your best.
But where to begin with your revision work? To help you get started and stay motivated, here are a few top revision tips from the team here at ISHA Academy. Good luck!
Past papers!
Our first top tip is to include regular use of past exam papers so you can put your skills to the actual test. Implementing proper exam conditions can also help you learn how to deal with pressure more effectively, so consider setting yourself the allotted time… and even asking someone to be your adjudicator on the day.
Regular breaks!
You don’t want to run the risk of burnout, as this will make it very hard for you to retain information and you could find yourself in a vicious cycle where you don’t learn anything at all, even though you’re spending hours at the books.
Taking regular breaks from your revision sessions allows you to return feeling fully refreshed and ready to tackle even the toughest of subjects.
Collaborate!
Depending on your learning style, you may well find it beneficial to collaborate with friends and classmates when it comes to revision. You can gain new perspectives, go over topics you’re unsure of and cement your own knowledge through explaining to others.
